This page is dedicated to us rambling about Lucifer's voices in other dubs...

Our absolute favorite voice for Lucifer (aside from English, of course) is the Canadian French dub... He's so cute, and you can tell that his voice actor is having a lot of fun with the role. He puts a lot of personality into him. There's even a cute little delivery of one of his lines that isn't in any other dub, even the English.

When Lucifer is attempting to sneak away from Charlie in episode 5 of season 2, he actually sings a little bit to himself in the Canadian French dub... It's an adorable little addition, and we wonder if it was improvised by his voice actor. It doesn't sound like something that would be planned, especially since it's not in any other version.

We also want to share the Canadian French version of the duck soap opera scene...

We also enjoy his voice in German... Very cute and silly. European French, Italian, Latin Spanish and Thai are decent, too.

In contrast, we're not the biggest fan of his voice in European Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish... His voice is a little too deep for our liking. Though they sound better when singing.

Japanese is weird... His speaking voice is fine, but we are not a fan of his singing at all. It might be our least favorite singing voice for him.

Songs

Here are our favorite dubs of Hell's Greatest Dad, More Than Anything and Lucifer's part in Vox Populi.

Hell's Greatest Dad

Unfortunately, we're not really a fan of the other dubs of this song... The Portuguese version is the only one we think we'd revisit.

More Than Anything

Vox Populi

None of these versions even come close to the English in terms of quality, but there are still some alright ones.

French (European)
German
Italian

Other Scenes

Us ranking the dubs of miscellaneous little Luci scenes that we like.

Ding Ding

As we mentioned on the quotes page, "ding ding" is undoubtedly our favorite Luci quote... And we have compiled and ranked all of them (aside from the Italian, Portuguese and Turkish versions since they unfortunately didn't dub the ding ding)...

9. Spanish (European)
8. German
7. Thai
6. Spanish (Latin)
5. Hindi
4. Japanese
3. French (European)
2. English
1. French (Canadian)

The little laugh in the Canadian French version really sells it, and the ding ding itself is very cute... Unfortunately, the rest of that version of the song is pretty bad, but that's not what we're ranking.

Laughs

Here is our personal ranking of Luci's laugh in episode 5 of season 2, when Vaggi asks him to smite Vox.

12. Japanese [He sounds like he's dying.]
11. Spanish (European)
10. Turkish
9. Thai
8. Italian
7. German
6. Hindi [His little "sorry" is cute.]
5. English
4.
Portuguese
3. French (European)
2. French (Canadian)
1. Spanish (Latin) [He genuinely sounds like he's cracking up and has just heard the funniest thing ever in his life.]

"YOU MOUTHY LITTLE MORTAL!"

Since this line is so short, we feel like a fair few of these rankings could be interchangeable, but we'd say this list gives a general enough idea of our thoughts on them.

12. Hindi [He sounds like he just experienced the mildest inconvenience, if even.]
11.
European Spanish [Not a fan of how the filter they put over his voice sounds in this one.]
10. Thai
9. European French
8.
Japanese [He go "grrrr."]
7. German
6. Italian
5.
Canadian French
4. Portuguese
3. Latin Spanish
2. Turkish [We feel like this version most closely matches the sound of the original.]
1. English [Nothing can compare to this version. He sounds both enraged and hurt.]

"No, no, no, Charlie!"

One of his sillier lines...

12. Portuguese
11. Canadian French [One of the very rare occasions where we're not the biggest fan of this VA's delivery...]
10. Thai
9. Turkish
8. European Spanish
7. Latin Spanish
6.
Japanese
5. Hindi
4. Italian
3. German
2. European French [Very cute...]
1. English [Peak silly.]

"You better be..."

"...Okay."

Another very short line. Ranking these based off how sad they make us feel for him... We do really wonder what Luci would have said to Charlie before she told him to leave.

12. Italian
11. European Spanish
10. Portuguese
9. Hindi [He's very quiet here.]
8. Turkish
7. Thai
6. Canadian French
5. European French
4. Japanese
3.
German
2. Latin Spanish [Genuinely sounds like he's about to cry...]
1. English [We want to hug him really, really tight.]

"You do not see me..."

We know we linked the Canadian French version earlier, but we'd also like to showcase the other dubs.

12. Italian
11.
European French
10. Japanese
9. Turkish
8. European Spanish
7. Portuguese
6. Thai
5. Latin Spanish
4. Hindi
3. Canadian French [Still super cute, even if he's a bit too loud to be sneaky.]
2. German [This one makes us giggle for some reason.]
1. English [So sneaky... Undetected.]

Fandubs

Here, we will be sharing various fandubs that we like. Just like with the official dubs, we will be linking versions of Hell's Greatest Dad and More Than Anything that we consider noteworthy. Unfortunately, there aren't really any good dubs of Vox Populi, yet...

Songs

Hell's Greatest Dad

We don't like many of the fandubs of this song, either... But this Dutch one is a banger. The voices are really nice for both Alastor and Lucifer.

More Than Anything

Ding Ding

Of course we had to compile noteworthy ding dings from various fandubs, too... The overall quality of some of these fandubs is... questionable. But we are not considering them as a whole; we are only including the ding dings.

We tried to rank these, but it was incredibly difficult since a lot of them sound so similar... To differentiate the various versions of the same language, we included the channel name of the singers of each fandub.

Keep in mind that we like all of these. We love and cherish every ding ding.
