My Hero Academia has been dubbed in several languages, and we've managed to find most of them (we're still searching for the ones we're missing).
Due to the subject being of personal interest to us, we have decided to compile and rank Denki's various voices. Though as a disclaimer, we may not have much (or anything at all) to comment on about each dub... This ranking has made us realize we don't know how to describe voices.
Also, keep in mind that our placements will be influenced by the voice actors' performance in the series as a whole. We're not just ranking them solely based off of how we feel about the voices in this one particular scene. The clips are provided just to give a basic idea of how each dub sounds.
Each dub has been linked separately to Google Drive since uploading the videos here would heavily eat away at the annoying Wix limit. Sorry...
The Worst
17. Malayalam
We don't think we even really need to explain why this is the worst one... It sounds like the voice actor just read off his lines in the most monotone voice possible. Very low effort dub. Though we are surprised to even see MHA having a Malayalam dub.
16. Telugu
15. Tamil
Not a fan of the voice with either of these, but we placed Tamil higher since Telugu's voice is too low pitched.
14. Persian
Persian's voice sounds too... Whiny? We're not intending to be mean; we just don't know how else to describe it...
13. Thai
12. Hindi
The voices in these are a bit better, but still not great... Oddly, Hindi leaves Denki's yell at the beginning unvoiced and just uses the Japanese audio.
Fine
10. Arabic
These are dubs that are noticeably better than the ones in the previous tier, but are also ones that we wouldn't go out of our way to listen to.
Brazilian Portuguese is complicated... His voice isn't terrible, but his actual voice acting tends to fall short. We'd say the scene we provided is probably one of his best performances. In others, this dub is easily the weakest link out of all the dubs available on Crunchyroll.
We wouldn't say Arabic's voice is bad, either, though it doesn't fit him too well in our eyes.
Liked Dubs
9. Hungarian
This dub only just manages to make it into this tier solely due to his voice. Like the Brazilian Portuguese dub, his voice acting really falls flat. It's unfortunate, since we could easily see this dub making it into the top 5 otherwise. His voice itself fits Denki.
6. Italian
5. German
Maybe not the most accurate to how we perceive his voice, but we think the higher pitch is cute... There's something really charming about it.
4. Japanese
This had to be up there, of course... We still struggle registering his voice as Denki, but it's good. We think we'd like it more if it was for any other character.
Though we will say that we do enjoy his voice whenever he uses his quirk, or is about to. It manages to be intense but also still maintain his silliness.
Loved Dubs
3. French
We feel like we could get flak for placing anything above the Japanese, but this is just our own personal (and correct) ranking.
His French voice is just so silly and charming; it makes us smile. He also adds a nice flair to his performance that you don't hear in a lot of the other dubs.
His Latin Spanish voice is pretty similar to how we imagine Denki's voice to be. And his voice acting is usually pretty solid, as a bonus.
We enjoy both of these dubs a lot, and their placements could be interchangeable.
Favorite
1. English
No matter what anyone says, this is OBJECTIVELY and FACTUALLY the best Denki voice. There is no other voice for him. It fits him so perfectly. It's just. Him. And we love his voice...
